The Cancer and the Choice

The tightrope walk of friendship's fray,
A balancing act in a delicate play.
Where conflicts arise, and feelings collide,
And choices are made, where loyalties hide.

I thought you different, a friend so true,
But your actions now paint a different hue.
To favor one, while another is scorned,
A bond of trust, forever torn.

Disappointment stings, a bitter taste,
As expectations fade, and friendships waste.
I held you high, on a pedestal's peak,
But your choices now make my heart grow weak.

The office walls, a toxic haze,
A coworker's presence, a soul ablaze.
Her negativity, a cancer's spread,
Leaving wounds of pain, and words unsaid.

But hope remains, in the coming days,
Her departure nears, a brighter phase.
Release from tension, a breath of fresh air,
As the office heals, and spirits repair.

Yet, the sting of friendship's lost remains,
A reminder that trust can be built in vain.
I'll learn and grow, from this painful plight,
And seek true friends, who would never board the flight.
